Chua Soi Lek advises SUPP

Chua the MCA president is sharp. Yes, it is better for SUPP to stay out of the new Sarawak's State Government. However he made one big error. The Chinese representatives in Sarawak's Cabinet line up prior to the State's 10th election not only represented the Chinese community voice, they control almost all-  politics, social and economy of the state.

Will staying out of the State government  solve the problem? Or is there a hidden agenda among the community?

KUALA LUMPUR - SUPP should not accept any position in the Sarawak state Cabinet as the party has lost the Chinese community's support, the MCA said.

"If it takes part in the Cabinet, I feel the Chinese of Sarawak would think they (SUPP) are there only for the seats and not to serve the community," said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

"Besides, SUPP's role in the Cabinet would be limited to only helping resolve problems within the Chinese community," he told a press conference after opening the Selangor MCA Youth forum at Seri Kembangan, near here, Sunday.

However, added Dr Chua, SUPP must continue to be in Barisan Nasional as the coalition still has the people's support and their (SUPP) candidates were elected on the Barisan ticket.

He said the Opposition would continue to prick SUPP and give a perpetually negative perception of the party if it held any position in the Cabinet.

"As such, it is better for SUPP to stay out," Dr Chua said.

He congratulated the Barisan Nasional leadership under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for retaining the Sarawak state government with a two-thirds majority but added it was unfortunate that Chinese voters in urban areas did not support SUPP.

In the just-concluded polls, the DAP stamped its mark by taking most of the Chinese-majority urban seats that were once SUPP strongholds.

The SUPP managed to only take six of the 19 seats it contested and among the seats won, four were retained by Dayak candidates in Dayak-majority areas.

Asked if this would have any effect on Barisan in the next general election, Dr Chua said the Sarawak polls results were not likely to affect Chinese support for Barisan.

Actually aku setuju dgn apa yg pornstar ni cakap.
