As the world mourns the unnecessary death of human rights activist, Rachel Corrie at such a young age of 23, the aggressor state is still at large.
This time around, the aggressor state took a shooting spree and her army troops captured a ship carrying food and aids to the embattled Palestinian.

Summoning ambassadors to condemns such barbaric act is passe act. The aggressor state is hiding behind "terrorism" and "defending the nation's sovereignty" to launch yet another attack on attempts to reach the starving and dying Palestinians.
It is about time that we the Muslim put aside our political differences and fight for a just cause.....helping our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine.
It is also nerve rattling that some of us in Malaysia took a swipe and dare to point fingers at their political foe for cheap political mileage. Empathy and humanity are no political pawn. Enough is enough! Life is no game !

Reverse political correctness in the case of Miss Fakih, the first Arab American crowned Miss USA 2010?
Arab-American from Michigan crowned 2010 Miss USA
United States of America claims the nation is the bastion of democracy the world over by first electing Mr. Barrack Hussein Obama, the first Black to the White House. No worry that he is actually related to the best pedigree that rules USA and Britain genecologically through his late Caucasian mother.
Then to top an icing on the democracy cake, the nation elect the first Arab American, Miss Rima Fakih, an Arab of Lebanese descend, to be Miss America 2010.
The move is significant because in 1948, the first Jewish woman won the crown of Miss America. The then political correctness helped the formation of the State Of Israel that same year.
Just as the icing on the democracy cake is about to stabilise, there is a move to make Miss Fakih a marked woman in the society. Photos of her so called pole-dancing were splashed in the cyber world. Never mind that the event was staged before an all female audience in fund raising event for charity.
This attack is similar to the ones suffered by Miss Vanessa Williams, the first Black crowned Miss USA in late 1980's. Miss Wiliam abandoned the title and moved to Hollywood where she succeeded as an actress and songstress.
Hmm political correctness anyone? Or is any organisation worried that this will catapult into a pro Arab policy of USA and eventually make USA a true champion of human kind, irrespective of race and religion as espouse by all major religion of the world?

Lebanese immigrant Rima Fakih says it was a certain look from Donald Trump that tipped her off that she had won the 2010 Miss USA title.
The 24-year-old Miss Michigan beat out 50 other women to take the title Sunday night, despite nearly stumbling in her evening gown.
She told reporters later that she believed she had won after glancing at pageant owner Trump as she awaited the results with the first runner-up, Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard.
"That's the same look that he gives them when he says, 'You're hired,'" on Trump's reality show "The Apprentice," she said.
"She's a great girl," said Trump, who owns the pageant with NBC in a joint venture.
Fakih took top honors at the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after strutting confidently in an orange and gold bikini, wearing a strapless white gown that resembled a wedding dress and saying health insurance should cover birth control pills.
Fakih, an Arab-American from Dearborn, Mich., told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths. She moved to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York, where she attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003.
Pageant officials said historical pageant records were not detailed enough to show whether Fakih was the first Arab American, Muslim or immigrant to win the Miss USA title. The pageant started in 1952 as a local bathing suit competition in Long Beach, Calif.
Fakih told reporters she sold her car after graduating college in Michigan to help pay for her run in the Miss Michigan USA pageant.
In a moment that was replayed during the broadcast, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in her gown because of the length of its train. But she made it without a spill and went on to win.
"I did it here, I better not do it at Miss Universe," she said. "Modeling does help, after all."
Fakih replaces Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton and won a spot representing the United States this summer in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant. She also gets a one-year lease in a New York apartment with living expenses, an undisclosed salary, and various health, professional and beauty services.
During the interview portion, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should because it's costly.
"I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it's a controlled substance," Fakih said.
Woolard handled the night's toughest question, about Arizona's new immigration law. Woolard said she supports the law, which requires police enforcing another law to verify a person's immigration status if there's "reasonable suspicion" that the person is in the country illegally.
She said she's against illegal immigration but is also against racial profiling.
"I'm a huge believer in states' rights. I think that's what's so wonderful about America," Woolard said. "So I think it's perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law."
Miss Virginia USA Samantha Evelyn Casey was the second runner-up, Miss Colorado USA Jessica Hartman was third runner-up, and Miss Maine USA Katherine Ashley Whittier was the fourth runner-up.
Most of the field of contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia were eliminated just after the pageant began and the entire group danced onstage to "TiK ToK" by Ke$ha.
A panel of eight judges, including NBA star Carmelo Anthony, Treasure Island casino-hotel owner Phil Ruffin and Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, were judging the girls throughout the night.
After 15 contestants strutted in swimsuits, five were eliminated. Another five were eliminated after the evening gown competition.
Miss Nebraska USA Belinda Renee Wright won the Miss Congeniality award, roughly one week after her father was killed in a farm accident. Miss Alabama USA Audrey Moore won Miss Photogenic after an online fan vote.
The pageant aired live to East Coast viewers on NBC.
The competition, which is not affiliated with the Miss America pageant, was hosted by celebrity chef Curtis Stone and NBC correspondent Natalie Morales.

liabiliti apa lagi mahunya UMNO?
Astagfirullahuladzim,
Hanya itu yang mampu terucap oleh hati.
Era pasca PRU-12 ini memang benar benar mencabar keimanan seorang pemimpin Islam.
Tatkala UMNO mendaki populariti dan makin diterima rakyat, entah macam mana isu judi bolasepak pula yang memadamkan sinaran mentari...bagai kata orang tua - tua panas setahun musnah kerana hujan di tengah hari........
Bangunlah pemimpin UMNO, bangunlah.

Assalamualaikum,
Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim,
Sahabatku sekalian,

Petikan Bicara Pasir Mas menulis..

Bangkok lesson on Sibu and the rest of Malaysia
Congratulation DAP on their recent by election history in Sibu.
Indeed this is a bad omen and the saddest day in Malaysia's history when polarised politics won the upper hand in the recent Sibu by election. Alas, the ugly head of racism has emerged in Sarawak, the bastion of racial harmony and the role model of 1Malaysia concept.
Poor indegenious Dayaks and other Bumis will be left out, for every attention will be given to the pampered Chinese, the richest lot and the luckiest..... ....this is another recipe for political instability in Malaysia.
Datuk Rocky Brus's has a good comment here http://rockybru.com.my/2010/05/congrats-dap-and-chinese.html
And Datuk A Kadir Jasin has a good modified pantun here
Sorong papan tarik papan, buah keranji dalam perahu, suruh makan mereka (the chinese) makan, suruh undi mereka tak mahu
Datuk Seri Najib, maybe it is time for you to give ultimatum to this community, like in old Tun Dr Mahathir time; either they are with us or they will be left out. Please Datuk, if their fail to vote MCA or Gerakan rep-please do not sacrifice any more Malay majority seats. Enough is enough!
Maybe Sarawakians and the rest of Malaysia should read what happened in Bangkok. Finally the political breed based on pure hatred laced with racial tone fueled by politically obsessed West Malaysians (and Thailand) has finally shown the ugly seed in Sarawak.

A'kum bro. quick post-mortem by an observer from Sibu (or Why the boundary of Sibu must be redrawn). I"ve just received a not so short SMS from an old friend who was observing the Sibu by-election, which the DAP has won by a 398-vote majority. His analysis, I believe, addresses some of the more salient points that have dictated the proceedings
having been to Sibu, I have learned that :
1) BN should not depend on Chinese votes
2) it is the YBs and their District Offices that must be made to have KPIs and NKRAs
3) the nation badly needs to identify youngish technocrats with hearts for the plight of the poor and the disadvantaged
4) SPR must redraw the boundary for Sibu cos if 68% are Chinese and the YB is Chinese, no one cares a damn for the rest who are all living below the hardcore poverty line.
sad.
Early blog analyses of the Sibu results also touch on the Chinese factor. in Big Dog's PM Najib wajar henti beri habuan kepada minoriti yang sombong, the blogger says Najib should stop trying to buy the loyalty of the Chinese voters. The RM18 million he pledged to this community would have served Sibu's indigenous people in the rural areas who are in greater need of help than the relatively wealthy Chinese.
Read also A. Kadir Jasin's commentary DAP rebut kerusi Parlimen Sibu. Excerpts:

Bila PRK Sibu, barulah terlompat-lompat orang Malaya naik belon .

Menjelang PRK Sibu
Salam To All,
2-SUPP sebenarnya mewakili semua kaum, walaupon kini dominasi kaum Cina

Subject: Re: What If ...DR please read..
Jowhar,
If you're sincerely concerned, please do check out the manifestos of the opposition parties to find out what you'll get with the alternative coalition.
Here are some highlights (that transcend Anwar's personal well-being):
1. An immediate stop to privatisation of basic public services like healthcare, education - and a reverse in even energy and public utilities. The rakyat will then regain control over these crucial areas and be able to stop corporate monopolies and forced price hikes. If you count the amount of money the rakyat will save, you'll see the benefits in this. Also, why the hell do we pay tax for, if not to pay for these basic services? According to the BN, our tax money is for social welfare for corporations. Do your math - a lot of M'sians have done so already and are awake to the fact that we're being taken for a very expensive ride by the BN.
2. An immediate separation of powers between the executive, the legislative and the judiciary to ensure accountability and avoid the abuse of power by any of these branches on the others. The executive (read: Dr M and gang) has been abusing the legislative and the judiciary so long that it thinks that this is a right, not a wrong. It's so bad that even Anwar, who belonged to the highest echelons of the executive, couldn't right this wrong. This means that the only alternative is to sack the present executive branch (read: BN) and elect new representatives.
3. A beginning of a new, more equitable, multiracial approach to managing this wonderful country called Malaysia. Our citizens are relatively tolerant of each other, but the BN has continued the British divide-and-rule (and outdated) system of government in keeping us apart. After putting up with this for 42 years, you must agree that the only way from here is to look at alternatives to the status quo. We have to UPGRADE.
4. A real and committed plan to alleviate poverty, esp. among the Malay rural community which has been used and abused by Umno for far too long. The Anwar issue has only been a catalyst to the expression of dissatisfaction among Malays, not the over-riding reason to voice a need for change. To claim so is disingenuous.
5. A stronger government to take Malaysia into the challenging new millennium. The BN can't do it - it's quite obvious. Even their leaders admit so, blaming external forces for their failure. Blaming is not going to solve our problems as a small trading nation in a corporate-ruled world. Having a clear and consistent policy on managing our assets will help stave off the sharks when they come to feed here. Eg., if privatisation is reversed, even the WTO will not have jurisdiction on our assets. When you put our assets in the hands of a few private corporations, you leave these assets vulnerable to takeover from within and outside the country, esp when these corporations mismanage our assets. Will BN reverse privatisation? I seriously doubt it! So who will? The opposition, of course.
6. We'll be better participants in the international and regional scene. Look around you - change is sweeping the region with such a ferocity, esp in Thailand and indonesia. Take Indonesia, for example. After the dust settles, and there is a new government, who do you think they'll want to deal with here in Malaysia? Dr M? Forget it - his name is dirt in Jakarta. Ghafar Baba? Tengku Razaleigh? Dream on! Ideology aside, and put into your crude economic terms, Indonesia is a market of 200 million people, just next to us - we cannot afford to screw up our relations with them by having the BN represent us!! We need to keep up with world standards - at the moment, democracy is an extremely sellable concept - we need it not just for ourselves, but for our relations with other countries. Or else the only country that'll give us the time of day will be Myanmar! (actually the generals there aren't going to last very long, so even that's not compelling enough). What will this mean? WE WILL BE INTERNATIONAL PARIAHS. If you can live with that, go ahead and keep the present BN status quo. But don't mock those who are more sensible than you.
If you need to argue for the BN, engage the opposition on worthy issues. If you want to engage with the adults, drop your kindergarten histrionics. Or else, stay in the playground with the likes of Dr M, Ling Liong Sik, Lim Keng Yaik and, of course, the biggest baby of all, Samy Vellu. We adults prefer to concentrate on the real problems facing the country, not deal with politicians like those who obviously need to grow up. You say that "governing a nation is not a joke". We are aware of it - so why don't you go tell this to those juvenile delinquents in BN instead, seeing that they've turned Malaysia into a joke already? Why be wary about treading on the toes of the BN, when you feel quite free to take cheap shots at the opposition? I seriously suspect that you really don't want to leave the kindergarten, Jowhar. So don't throw around concepts like 'democracy' so cheaply and insincerely in this forum while citing historical revolutions in the West to back up your scare tactics, parroting your playmates in the BN - it insults the intelligence of us adults.
Cheers
Sheryll Stothard

Mudahnya mereka melaknat Abu Bakar As Siddiq, Umar dan Siti Aishah ra.
Sedarlah ummat Islam, hentikan kerosakan ini.

A Lesson From Thailand - By A Sarawakian Living in Bangkok
The country can fall into a state of anarchy if the people choose a wrong government. A Sarawakian, Genevieve Wong who works with a Christian mission agency in Bangkok shares her story with The Borneo Post correspondence.
From a Sarawakian working and living in Bangkok
May 1, 2010, Saturday
IN this column on April 17, I wrote about the situation in Thailand and said that until the street protests and demonstrations in Bangkok stop, I wouldn’t want to visit the Thai kingdom.I also expressed my concern that the political uncertainty has seriously ravaged the Thai economy as Thailand is a country whose economy significantly depends on its tourism industry.
That is a fact as the World Tourism rankings put Thailand as the 18th world’s most visited country with almost 14.5 million visitors each year for the past several years.
Several readers responded to my article, ‘Street justice in Bangkok: When will it end?’.
There is a very interesting email I received from a Sarawakian who is working and living in Bangkok.
Genevieve Wong works with a Christian mission agency, helping to run a language centre. On weekends, she helps a Thai church in Bangkok.
As a missionary, Wong holds a religious visa and has a valid work permit.
When I sought her permission to publish her letter, she agreed on condition that I edited some of her comments.
In a note of caution, Wong wrote: “I do not want to jeopardise my status by commenting on politics in my host country.” I told her that I will edit her article carefully, adding that a little political commentary will not harm anyone.
The reason why I wanted to publish Wong’s letter in The Borneo Post today is to share with readers a first-hand account of the situation in Bangkok. What I’ve written as an observer from afar could not be as accurate as the report from Ground Zero.
This is the edited version of Wong’s email:
I responded to one of your articles once before and I’d like to comment on your most recent one on Thailand.
You should be commended for trying to write such a balanced piece of work. It does reflect your deep insight into the happenings in Thailand over the past several years. I’ve lived in Thailand for over 13 years now and for the most part in Bangkok. So may I
comment.
Thailand is losing billions of Baht a day due to the current unrest. Yes, the main city centre is clogged up as the protesters think it’s a good idea to rally there. There is always the potential for violence as witnessed last Saturday. But Bangkok is a big city. There are still lots of shopping malls offering good deals on the outskirts of Bangkok.
I believe the weekend market is also safe and away from the rally site. MBK is too close. Go north of Bangkok (Rangsit) and there’s the big shopping mall ‘Future Park’, ‘IT City’ in Don Muang, Zeer Rangsit for electronic stuff and cheap shopping next to it. Of course you could visit other cities as well. Thailand needs your money!!!
The political unrest did not start when Thaksin was ousted. It started before, when he was still PM. The yellow shirts wanted him out because of massive corruption and other ‘sensitive issues’. Then the military coup was the only answer to ‘end’ the protest.
The present red shirts protest has gained strength from support of the rural poor. It’s true that they’ve been left behind in terms of wealth and they’re fighting for a piece of the pie. They were attracted by Thaksin’s populist policies. But sadly, in this current unrest, they’ve been used as pawns. They’ve been fed only one sided views. Ask any of them what they’re fighting for and they can’t give you a clear answer.
The rally has taken a different shape and questions arose as to what exactly is the aim. It’s very complicated, politically and culturally.
Dissolving Parliament and calling early elections will not resolve the current impasse. The people are so bitterly divided that it’s impossible to go out and campaign.
It has become a lawless state. Imagine this – even policemen and soldiers could be taken hostages by the protesters! Weapons could also be forcibly seized from soldiers as they retreated from the battle last Saturday!
Whoever wins the election is not going to find it easy to govern as the loser will come out and protest on the streets again. They’re not playing by the rules.
I respect PM Abhisit because he is honest, transparent, and wants the best for the country. I can’t say the same for his ministers and party. I can’t see anyone else who would be accepted by both sides at the moment. He’s gaining a lot of support at the moment from the silent majority.
I feel despair for the country that I’ve come to love. Only God can intervene and pour out His mercy on Thailand and on the Thai people. So I can only pray.
Thanks for your interest in Thailand. I hear from my Sarawak friends that news gets to them so slowly.
Just to let you know that by and large, I feel very safe in Bangkok.
Warmest regards.
Genevieve Wong (A fellow Sarawakian)
Responding to my reply to her email a few days later, Wong wrote: “May I clarify what I said about feeling safe in Bangkok. Actually it would be unwise to go near the rally site. An ‘eruption’ can happen any time and it can be deadly. Right now, I avoid the city centre altogether. But by staying in the outskirts, it’s business as usual.” – G. Wong
Sadly, the street protests are still raging on in the Thai capital. As I write this, a wire news service reported that Thai security forces had fired into a crowd of anti-government protesters during a clash just outside Bangkok Wednesday, as they tried to keep the Red Shirts from expanding their demonstrations from a base in the capital. One soldier was killed, and at least 18 protesters were hurt.
With the situation still fluid and uncertain, we can only hope and pray that peace and normalcy will return to Thailand as soon as possible. Should the Thais wish to continue their street protests, please do it with good sense and responsibility and not resort to violence.
And Genevieve, do take care in Bangkok. We’ll pray for your well-being.

Ingatan Untuk Datuk Seri Najib-Eksplorasi Minyak Luar Negara Urusan Kerajaan Malaysia
In a statement here on Saturday, the national oil company said it had since set up a team that had begun negotiations with Brunei to work out the terms of this commercial arrangement.
"Both parties are committed to arriving at a mutually beneficial arrangement as soon as possible," it said.
Petronas said it also wished to clarify reports on the offshore exploration areas designated as Blocks L and M following the execution of the Exchange of Letters between Malaysia and Brunei on March 16, 2009.
"This exchange was a culmination of a long-standing issue between the two countries to arrive at a mutually beneficial arrangement, which allowed Petronas to enter into new production sharing contracts for both blocks.
"Petronas confirms that following the exchange of letters, the production sharing contracts covering Blocks L and M, which were awarded in 2003 to Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and Murphy Sabah Oil Co Ltd were formally terminated on April 7 this year as these are no longer part of Malaysia.
"Blocks L and M are redesignated as Blocks CA1 and CA2 respectively," it said.
The controversy over the two blocks have arisen after former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had in a blog posting asked why the two blocks no longer belonged to Malaysia.
Dr Mahathir said the two blocks had been claimed by Malaysia based on historical facts.
In response, former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had refuted claims that he signed away Malaysia's rights over the two blocks.
Abdullah had said that he signed the agreement after the Malaysian Cabinet approved the deal on Feb 11, which stated that while sovereign rights over these two areas belonged to Brunei, it also allowed Malaysia to participate in jointly developing the areas for 40 years.
